Discussion GroupThe Discussion Group meets monthly to exchange ideas and thoughts about a wide range of subjects, including current issues - both local and international, and spend time learning about a particular country. Seven attended the meeting on 1st October where the main topic was Argentina. This proved to be a most interesting topic. It is the eighth largest country in the world and borders Chile, Bolivia Uruguay and Paraguay. It has the second highest Human Development Index in South America and is a member of most international institutions. Perhaps it is best known for being the number of coups that have occurred and “Evita”. It is essentially an Agricultural Economy. Our next meeting will be at 9.30am on Wednesday 5th November in the front room at Balwyn Community Centre. I will be an apology, but I am sure there will be plenty to discuss. Remember it is necessary to be a member of the Community Centre ($16.00).
