Writing for Pleasure Group

The Writing for Pleasure Group members share a passion for the written word and cultivate their writing skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. They receive constructive feedback from experienced mentors and delve into the depths of various writing genres.

Only three scribes attended our September meeting. Owen Clark was an apology but submitted an article about a scam that was supposed to have come from his son. It was very clever, but it didn't succeed. You can read Owen’s article at the bottom of this page. 

For the attendees, it was something of a travel fest. Beth Coote wrote about the colours of Central Australia, starting from an Albert Namatjira painting in their home, describing a visit she and Max made to Central Australia, and how impressed they were with the historical places and the unique colouring.

Dieter Markworth wrote of his and Noelene’s very special 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration when they travelled to Canberra and the delicious food they shared along the way.

Sid and Jean are back in England, beginning with Sid's reflection on his recovery from his operation. The second half focused on the opportunities that are available to get ahead in Australia, and one suspects that they will soon be back home.

Our next meeting will commence at 9.30am on Thursday 15th October in the small front meeting room at the Balwyn Community Centre.

We will continue until the end of the year and then assess if the group continues. It would be sad to see it fold.
