Writing for Pleasure GroupThe Writing for Pleasure Group members share a passion for the written word and cultivate their writing skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. They receive constructive feedback from experienced mentors and delve into the depths of various writing genres. There were three very different types and topics in the writings that were read at the writing group. It was good to have Geoff Ellis with us to read his Sid and Jean article. Believe it or not, Sid had a knee operation and spent time in the Donvale Rehabilitation Centre. We know where that came from, as Geoff had time there. The last half of Geoff’s article took a group, including the English visitors, by two hired small planes to visit and explore Mildura and Broken Hill. Beth Coote’s writing demonstrated how conversations add life and a different atmosphere to a written article. Owen shared what it was like to leave Lifeline after ten years as a staff member: a very emotional moment. Ray Nugent was with us and contributed very much to our discussion. I think our discussion in this Group would be a challenge to the usual Discussion Group!
